Brand new cosplay coming through! And for once, it's not a video game character--SHOCKING! In fact, it's another cosplay of one of my own designs, specifically my own gijinka of Princess Luna from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the Hasbro show that has been taking the Internet by storm since it was released last year.
Just as a disclaimer, I do love the show, just not as much as the infamous 'brony'. And I'm WAY behind on the current season as well. I actually don't know if I would have done this cosplay in the first place, but the story goes is that I picked up some sparkly purple fabric that was on clearance at JoAnn's, had no idea what the eff I was gonna do with it, and then got the brilliant idea to do a cosplay of Luna. So I drew up my own design, pulled together the materials, spent my winter break sewing it together, and next thing I know I'm cosplaying a pony... WHO KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN HUH.
As usual, everything about this costume I pretty much made from scratch, even drafting up my own pattern for the dress and creating my own petticoat, which both turned out wonderfully. :'D I definitely want a full photoshoot of this costume, though, since I didn't get that many photos of it and the photos I did get don't show off the best details, like the cloud pattern on the hem that matches Luna's cutie mark, or the big ass bow on the back. There are definitely some things I need to fix too before the next con, which is most likely this coming Otakon!
